Big laughs and good times in Jonesboro tonight!!12 Jul 2010

This annual WOW Celebration at Southwest Church of Christ here in Jonesboro, Arkansas is pretty cool! Apparently there’s something going on for the adults, something going on for the kids and we got to hang out with the middle school and high school students for a great time of laughter!

We’re just starting a pretty busy stretch of travel and tonight was a great way to start it off! We got a little experience in working at a Realty Office and we got to talk about intriguing topics like “Would a man-eating shark also eat a woman?”

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. First we wandered in to the high school auditorium and we were excited to see that set! The little farm house looks like a place you would want to live. I could spend some quality time rocking in that chair on the porch.

And on the other side of the stage, was that a spaceship or did the world’s largest scarecrow forget his hat?

We also spent a bit of time before the show talking about Mt. Rushmore. It’s in Erik’s homeland of South Dakota, but your youth leaders were having a hard time identifying that. I think Erik has recovered from the shock by now.

Okay, on to the best suggestions of the night. You guys were in rare form with your suggestions!

I like the bathtub as an item to return to the store; and the vacation to the inside of a volcano was a good one; I also really enjoyed Erik getting framed for the killing of the hamster (inspired by a true story apparently!) when he only ate the rubber duck; oh and the rubber duck cemetery caretaker was a good one!

But I think my favorite suggestion of the night was kind of a group project. Making a juice box from a pillow and a human bone was pure genius!

We really enjoyed getting to talk to some of you after the show and getting to meet your parents was great too!

After the show we took Erik for his first trip to Waffle House and had a great midnight breakfast. And now we’re off to Nashville for our next stop.

Thanx for the laughs! We can’t wait to hear from all of you on our guestbook!!
